I'm Busy With God Bishop Phillip Thomas of our sister church, Highview Christian Fellowship, guest-preaches another energetic and passionate message to mind God's business, not the business of others who would distract us from our divine purpose. Citing the blind man given sight by Jesus in John 9, we should focus on the divine resolution, rather than the miracle worked. The whys and inequalities of life aren't important; what's important is to be ready and able to do God's work when called upon, to His glory. Resolve to turn away from distractions, such as procrastination, jealousy, addictions, pessimism, etc. which will "come out of the woodwork" to keep us from realizing the unique task He has carved out for each of us.
Our beloved Jesus is infinitely stronger than any distraction, even though the "Devil will try to hook you up with a date." The stronger our love for the Lord, the tigher our resolution and the weaker the distraction's stronghold on us. We need to be confident in our deliverance so we can be about God's Business.
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know thatyour labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor 15:58
