O2 Ministry Opportunities
How can I get involved?
Talk to us! Tell us what interests, passions and skills you have that you would like to use to serve in one of these areas. Explore where God may be leading you. Some of these opportunities are clearly defined, while others are more tailored depending on your schedule, the need and the right fit. Let us know what questions you have so we can help you take the next step. Contact Alan MacDonald at alanmacdonald@fairfax.cc or Sara Pearce at sarapearce@fairfax.cc.
Serving in Local Outreach
**Do Intersect! Serve with your small group (or individually) with one of our Intersect Partners:
Lamb Center
Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center
Best Kids
Study Buddies
Young Life Capernaum Ministries
Good News Jail & Prison Ministry
Operation Kid Comfort
Care Network
**Become a Local Ministry Ambassador. Be part of a team of individuals who learn about and promote involvement in our local ministries. Become a true advocate for the “least of these”.
**Be a Social Care Case Worker. Spend about 4-6 hours a month talking to individuals from the local community in crisis situations. Walk along side of the individual and help us provide the necessary care and assistance while assessing their situation.
Serving in Global Outreach
**Go on a Global Impact Trip. Our Global Impact trips are skill-focused, vision-enlarging trips where individuals and small teams come along side our ministry partners. The service provided will vary depending on the specific needs on the field. 2009 trips included the Dominican Republic, Kenya, and Lebanon. Contact us for more information and to apply for a team.
**Consider doing an Internship with one of our global partners. There are several opportunities available to gain first-hand cross-cultural experience and serve with some of the top emerging leaders in the world. There is a current internship available to teach English in Hungary from July 2009 – July 2010. Other internships include opportunities in Central Asia and the Dominican Republic.
Serving in O2 Support Ministries
** Provide Hospitality to visitors such as missionaries, international students, conference students, guest speakers, and interns. Use your Martha Stewart skills, or just the plain warmth and openness of your home to care for those visiting us.
