It’s never been easier to change the world right where you are. Missional Groups create a community that strengthens your sense of belonging to one another, and the world. Each group focuses on meeting a specific area of need: Restore the Refugee, Care for the Poor, Educate the Child, and Champion the Underserved. Participate in our monthly missional gatherings as these groups explore what it means to live on-mission daily!
Restore the Refugee
This group works with newly resettled refugee families living in the DMV with the aim of building relationships and creating a safe and welcoming environment. Opportunities may include providing transportation, employment and education mentoring, donating material needs (clothing, housewares, etc.).
Care for the Poor
This group serves those experiencing homelessness, hunger and poverty. Opportunities may include assembling care kits, volunteering at homeless shelters, and participating in clothing drives.
Educate the Child
Empower the next generation by helping fill the resource gap both here and abroad. Opportunities may include: ESL tutoring, after school tutoring, and donating classroom resources.
Champion the Underserved
Be the voice and raise awareness for those whose gifts and talents are often underserved and unseen. Opportunities may include building relationships with the elderly, appreciating first responders and military members, and mentoring exceptional students through YoungLife Capernaum.
Join us for our next Missional Gathering
Each month, we gather to celebrate how God is using Fairfax Community Church here and around the world and pray for the ministry that is taking place outside the walls. During this time, we also break into our missional groups to build community and plan upcoming service opportunities.
Check back in the fall to sign up for our next Missional Gathering.
