Devotion:
In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the gathered disciples, just as Jesus had promised, and they were filled with power to bear witness to Jesus. What God poured out on those who waited did not remain hidden; it overflowed into worship, boldness, fellowship, generosity, and public witness to Jesus.
For believers, prayer of invitation does not mean the Holy Spirit is absent. Jesus promised the Helper would abide with His people. But we still need to yield ourselves afresh to the Lord and ask Him to fill and lead us. We pray, “Father, by Your Holy Spirit, have Your way in me today. Lead my words, thoughts, reactions, work, service, and witness, through Jesus Christ.”
Gratitude helps bring the heart into surrender. We thank God the Father for salvation through Christ, thank Him for the gift of the Holy Spirit, and ask to be filled in a way that glorifies Christ. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is not only for church gatherings or moments of worship. It is a life increasingly surrendered to God, strengthened for obedience, and sent as a witness.

Prayer & Practice:
Father, thank You for salvation in Jesus and for the gift of Your Spirit. By Your Holy Spirit, fill us afresh. Have Your way in us: in our words, thoughts, reactions, and in the way we live at home, at work, in our relationships, in service, and as witnesses to Jesus. Deepen our gratitude, lead us in truth, and let what You do in us overflow through us for Christ’s glory. Amen.
Pause today with a yielded heart: thank God for His mercy, ask Him to fill and lead you by His Spirit, and look for one ordinary opportunity to reflect Jesus in your words, attitude, service, or witness.
