Practice of Prayer
In a world that prizes control, distraction, and performance, prayer invites us into a radically different way of being—marked by intimacy, honesty, and surrender. This 5-week journey will explore the depths of prayer through the lens of Jesus’ own relationship with the Father.
Inspired by Tyler Staton’s Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools, each week will focus on a key practice of prayer: listening to Christ’s intercession, adoring the Father, confessing with vulnerability, petitioning with trust, and interceding with kingdom imagination. Whether prayer feels unfamiliar, routine, or dry, this course is an invitation to discover prayer as the core of an honest, dependent, and Spirit-filled life.
The Intercession of Christ
Jesus not only teaches us how to pray—He prays for us. We begin by anchoring our prayers in the interceding love of Christ.
Our Father in Heaven
Prayer starts with awe. We learn to lift our eyes in worship and reorient our hearts around who God is.
Search Me and Know Me
Confession is where honesty meets grace. We invite God to examine us, heal us, and set us free.
Our Daily Bread
God invites us to bring our needs—big and small—to Him daily. Petition grounds us in trust, not self-reliance.
On Earth as It Is in Heaven
Prayer fuels the work of God’s Kingdom. We learn to stand in the gap for others and partner with God’s redeeming work in the world.
