Make Wholeness Possible for Children in South America
This year, our Global 5K is focused on Children of Promise, our newest global partner. You’re invited to join us May 21 at 10 am for our annual race as we celebrate their 30th birthday!
Children have the best chance at wholeness when they have their basic needs met and they are a part of a loving community. Through the child sponsorship program, Children of Promise focuses on meeting the needs of these children and their families in four core areas: Nutrition, Education, Healthcare and Discipleship.
Children of Promise is an incredible, locally shaped, globally supported child sponsorship organization. They have 35 programs across 30 countries, supporting over 4,500 children. Fairfax is partnering with Children of Promise specifically in their South American programs in Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Paraguay.
Our goal for this year's Global 5K:
Note: child profiles will be available to select and sponsor during race weekend.
50
new children in South America sponsored by our Fairfax Church community
100
of our registration fees sent to help seed their newest program launching in Brazil

About The Race
What is this year's course?
Our 5K race will begin in the parking lot of Fairfax Church and continue through a well-marked path along Braddock Road and connecting roads along the way. The course will be protected from road traffic and will have guides and water stations along the way.
Will there be a Fun Run this year?
Yes! Those who would like to run or walk in an easy Fun Run will simply follow a fun path we created around our parking lot beginning at 10:15am. Children or adults who may not want to run a 5K are welcome to register, select Fun Run, and take this easy route on Race Day!
Where do we park?
There is parking available on the church property. When you enter, parking attendants will direct to specific spots marked out for the race.
What if I want to attend but not participate?
Anyone is welcome to come out and cheer on our runners. There is no need to register if you are not running or walking in the event.
How do I volunteer?
We appreciate anyone who would like to volunteer on race day to help make this race possible! For questions or to sign up to volunteer, please email outreach@fairfax.cc.
What is the Post-Race Birthday Blowout Party?
Make sure to stay after the race is over for our Birthday Blowout Party celebrating Children of Promise’s 30th Birthday! There will be music, food, bounce houses, face painting, and of course, cake!
