Saturday, June 22 at Burke Lake Park

This June, Fairfax is going global

Did you know our global partners around the world are planting Gospel-centered churches where Christianity is not readily welcomed, providing an education to children living in crime-ridden countries, and fighting global issues ranging from sex trafficking to the refugee crisis?

This summer, you have the opportunity to support them in making this worldwide impact. Join us at our first ever Global 5K on Saturday, June 22 at Burke Lake Park. 100% of registration fees go directly to our partners, and by running together, we are making their mission our mission.

Race Day Information

Global 5K
8:00am
One-Mile Fun Run
9:00am

The Course

We will begin at the parking area between Shelters A & B inside Burke Lake Park. The course will take us throughout the park and end back between Shelters A & B. There will be several water and first aid stations along the way.

Parking

There is parking available at Shelters A & B where the race will begin and end. Parking attendants will be directing folks to available spots and overflow parking. Once you enter the park, follow the signs to Shelters A & B.

Post Race Gathering

Join us after the race for hot dogs and goodies and fun. Burke Lake Park has a variety of great activities including golfing, canoeing, fishing, biking, mini-golf, disc golf courses, and train & carousel rides for the kids. So enjoy some time hanging out or playing after the race.

One-Mile Fun Run

We will offer a one-mile fun run to kick off the event. Children or adults who may not want to participate in the 5K are welcome to register for this easy route!

Park Entrance Fee

Fairfax County residents do not have to pay the weekend entrance fee to Burke Lake Park. Starting at 8:00am, the park will charge a $10.00 entrance fee if you are not a Fairfax County resident with your license to verify, so be sure to get in and park by 8:00am if you are not a resident.

Spectators

There is no need to register if you are not participating in one of the events. Anyone is welcome to come out and cheer on our runners. There is a wonderful playground near the starting line where families can watch the race while enjoying the park’s amenities!

Packet Pick-Up and Dinner

Friday, June 21 from 4:00 to 8:00pm

Pick up your race packet and enjoy a “carb-loaded” dinner buffet with other racers. Also have a chance to meet several of our missionaries, partners and pastors you will be running for!

*Packets not picked-up on June 21, can be picked up between 7:00-7:45am the day of the race.

Runners will receive:

  • Global 5K T-Shirt
  • Race bag filled with runner swag
  • Updates from our Global Partners
  • Awards for top three runners for both men and women
  • Incredible JOY knowing the difference you are making in the lives of women, men and children in desperate need of Christ and basic life necessities

Volunteer

We appreciate anyone who would like to volunteer on race day to help make this race possible. Volunteers will receive a special volunteer t-shirt.
