Welcome the Stranger

Throughout his ministry, Jesus offered an open invitation to all who were seeking to know him: “Come and you will see” (John 1:39). The Gospel is inclusive, not exclusive. As disciples of Jesus, we invite and welcome others to come and see Jesus for themselves and invite them to be a part of our family.

Practice the Way of Jesus

Following Jesus isn’t just an event on Sunday, but a way of life. As disciples of Jesus we make being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and living out His mission of restoration a way of life. Together in community we are learning how to practice the Way of Jesus.

Love One Another

Jesus said the world would know His followers by their love for one another (John 17:20-23). Despite our differences, we are united by the love of Jesus. That’s why groups should be about intimately sharing our lives with one another, seeking to know one another’s stories, and praying for each other.

Online Community Groups meet in medium to large groups and will journey through the Gospel of John this fall, seeking to understand and be challenged by the teachings of Jesus.

Wherever you are in life and in your faith, in Community groups you will build meaningful friendships and through the teachings of Jesus discover what it means to follow Him with your whole life.

In-Person Huddles meet in very small groups of 4-6 people, who go through specific discipleship material aimed to challenge you in your faith in the context of an intimate community.

There will be specific material for both newer believers seeking to learn more about the basics of following Jesus and more mature believers looking to dive deeper into practicing the way of Jesus.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do Community and Huddle groups look like during COVID-19?

Due to COVID-19 we are not yet able to safely gather Community groups in person, so during Fall 2020 all of our Community Groups will meet online.

Alongside our online Community groups we are offering a new type of Transit group called a Huddle. Our New Huddle groups will meet safely together in very small groups. You are welcome to join whichever group type works best for you or you are welcome to join one of each!

When and where do Transit groups meet?

Transit groups meet over three group cycles:

  • Fall 2020: September 15 – December 121
  • Spring 2021: January 24 – May 8
  • Summer 2021: May 26 – August 6

Groups meet weekly on a specific day of the week either online, in a home, at a coffee shop, at a park or at the church.

How are Community and Huddle groups organized?

Every group’s size can vary and change over the course of a group cycle. However many members are in the group, we will always break into smaller groups for bible studies and prayer. The exception are our huddle groups; they are limited to 4-6 members per group.

Community groups are organized based on your stage of life — we do our best to group you with others who are similar in age. While community groups are co-ed, our huddle groups are single-gender groups.

What can I expect during a Transit group?

During each Community Group meeting, members share a meal prepared by the group’s host family. After eating, groups gather to get to know each other, read and discuss a passage from the bible, and end the evening by breaking into groups of two or three to pray. All the study materials are provided by the group leaders, so you don’t need to bring anything with you!

Length of a group meeting can vary depending on the type of group, but most group meetings will be 1-2 hours long.
