Receptionist
Our receptionist is the first point of contact for those calling and visiting Fairfax Church for the first time, for official business, for those seeking care, and for those seeking legal immigration services with Immigrant Connection Fairfax. This position provides a warm, welcoming experience to those connecting to the church and helping them access the services they need. The receptionist works with a diverse group of external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.

Reports to: Director of Outreach
Work Schedule: Part-time salaried (30 hours/week), working Mondays 10am – 4pm and Tuesday through Thursdays 9am – 5pm.

Key Responsibilities
- Answer church phone, screen and direct calls with a positive warm attitude.
- Answer calls directed toward Immigrant Connection and assist in scheduling initial consultations with clients.
- Monitor general church email account and direct inquires to the appropriate department.
- Greet visitors and direct persons to the appropriate individuals according to their needs.
- Work with the Resource Center team to warmly greet social service professionals and ensure a smooth order pick-up process.
- Sort and distribute mail to staff members and Immigrant Connection office.
- Monitor facilities’ usage and prepare signage for daily events.
- Maintain office supplies and inventory.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming reception area and staff workroom space.
- Provide administrative support to other ministry teams as necessary.
Qualifications

- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities at the same time.
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to work independently.
- A high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations, and the ability to demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.
Facilities Evening
Coordinator
Fairfax Church is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented person to ensure the security and safety of the church facility during evening hours. The role involves securing the building by performing specific tasks to lock down the premises after evening activities. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for the church community.
Job Title: Facilities Evening Coordinator
Department: Facilities
Reports to: Facilities Director
Work Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings.
Hours: Approximately 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM.

Key Responsibilities
- Secure Fire Doors: Verify that all fire doors are closed and properly secured to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Check Perimeter Doors: Inspect and confirm that all perimeter doors are locked and secured to prevent unauthorized access.
- Lock Office and Hallway Entrances: Ensure all office doors, including hallway entrances, are locked to protect sensitive areas and equipment.
- Turn Off Lights: Turn off lights in restrooms, offices, and other designated areas to conserve energy and maintain a tidy facility.
- Report Issues: Notify the appropriate church staff of any security or maintenance concerns observed during the lockdown process.
Trellis
Program
Trellis seeks to empower men and women by equipping them with training and education that will fully equip them for a lifetime of local church ministry.
Overview
Year One
In year one, you will rotate through the various ministries of the local church (kids, youth, music, admin, etc.) giving you robust local church experience.
Years Two and Three
In years two and three, you will specialize in one of these ministry areas. This valuable, hands-on training experience is coupled with a specialized year-round class schedule from one of our partner universities and a ministerial licensing program.
