Week 1: Day 1
The Cry for Justice
Scripture to Meditate on:
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” – Isaiah 1:17
Our journey into the realm of justice begins with acknowledging the cry for justice that resonates throughout Scripture. As NT Wright points out, justice is a broken signpost in our world, often misunderstood and misapplied. But in the heart of God, justice is a divine attribute. Today, let us reflect on the call to seek justice, to defend the marginalized, and to stand up for the vulnerable. May we learn to recognize the cries for justice in our world and respond with compassion and action.
Question to ponder:
- In what way do you find yourself longing for justice?
