Four Questions to ask someone who comes to you in need:

How long have you been dealing with this? (Duration)
Who else knows? (Involvement of others)
Have you received any counsel on how to deal with this? (Wisdom)
Do you have any plans for your next steps? (Action)

How might you leave the situation?

  • Always ask to pray with them.
  • Discern who needs to be follow up with them and how that transfer will best happen.
  • Check in on them if they are still in your care or if appropriate.
