To equip and shape future ministry leaders through hands-on church experience, mentorship, spiritual formation, and leadership training — helping participants discern a call to vocational ministry.
Fairfax Lead is a leadership-development pathway to raise up ministry leaders of the future. Our program includes multiple tracks depending on your academic and ministry experience. No matter what your starting point is and which track you take, our mission is the same: To equip and shape deeply formed leaders to lead the next generation of the Church.
Through real church experience, intentional mentorship, and deep spiritual formation, Fairfax Lead helps you discern whether vocational ministry is the path God is inviting you to step into.
We’re here to help you honestly discern your calling. If you sense even a small tug toward ministry, but aren’t sure what that means or if it’s for you, this is a place to explore that with clarity, safety, and support.
Ministry is real work with real impact. You’ll learn transferable skills like teaching, leadership, pastoral care, communication, team-building, and problem-solving, competencies that shape you for ministry and for life. You don’t need to be certain, confident, or “super spiritual” to join. You just need to be curious and open to what God might be doing to you.

Every 6-8 weeks you will rotate through serving on staff with each key area of ministry gaining real experience and mentorship by current ministry leaders. Year 1 is a year to explore, grow and begin discerning your calling
In Year 2 – Develop – In your second year you will step into a primary ministry assignment where you will have a deeper and more focused experience on one or two areas of ministry. You will begin taking on more responsibility within your ministry team. Year 2 is all about deepening ministry skills, deeply forming your character and gaining more clarity about the direction God may be leading you in your ministry calling.
Year 3 – Practice – In your third and final year you will step into real ministry leadership. You will get to practice developing and leading teams, shaping ministry rhythms and taking on important ministry responsibility in planning, communication, volunteer development and the day to day pastoral leadership required to shepherd people well.
