RESOURCE CENTER PRIVACY POLICY

The Resource Center of Northern Virginia, Inc. believes that a strong, trustworthy electronic privacy is crucial for the ongoing use and success of the Internet as a service, commercial, information, and entertainment medium. To this end, unless you designate otherwise, the information you enter here will be known to only two parties: you and the Resource Center. We will not release your personal data to anyone else without your consent.

When you provide personal information on our Resource Center Request Form, certain personal information is collected for notification purposes. We collect your email address and phone number to send you email or SMS notifications about your pickup requests. Your information will not be shared with third parties except as required to provide this service.

Visitors to this site and users of this form should be aware that you could be directed to other sites that are beyond our control. These other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect or solicit personal data.

By using this site, you signify your agreement to the Resource Center’s privacy policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our site or make a request on our form. Your continued use of the site following the posting of any changes to this policy will mean you accept those changes.

SMS POLICY

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The Resource Center of Northern Virginia, Inc., also known as the Resource Center, provides resources to community social service professionals working directly with families who need immediate support. These resources are requested by clients via our request form. Each week our Resource Center distributes groceries, household essentials, kitchen essentials, hygiene bags, diapers and clothing to some of the most vulnerable children and families in Fairfax County.

TEXT MESSAGE/SMS OPT-IN

By providing your phone number to the Resource Center, you consent to send you text messages regarding Resource Center donation pickups. Clients acknowledge this on our submission summary page when making a request to the Resource Center. Clients are required to check an opt-in box and are provided links to this policy.

MESSAGE FREQUENCE AND RATES

Message frequency varies by the nature of the client request/preference. Typically, clients receive one notification on confirmation of their appointment, and one reminder message 24 hours before their appointment is scheduled. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undeliverable messages. If your phone does not support MMS, you’ll receive SMS instead.

OPT-OUT OR STOP

If you wish to stop receiving text messages from the Resource Center, reply “STOP” to any text message. You may also stop text messages by calling us at (703) 745-1030 or emailing us at resourcecenter@fairfax.cc.

HELP OR SUPPORT

If at any time you need our contact information on how to stop text messages, reply to any of our text messages and in the reply, text HELP. Upon receiving your text message, we will send you a text message with this information. In general, the messages we send provide you with information about your scheduled pickup, building closures, and other announcements. Some of the text messages we send may include links to websites. To access these websites, you will need a web browser and internet access.

This program is supported by Alltel, AT&T, Boost, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, Virgin Mobile, MetroPCS, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undeliverable messages. Products and services are compatible with AT&T handsets.
