Register for the event and invite your extended family to witness your child’s dedication and share in this special memory.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commands that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children."
The birth of a child is an event unlike any other in your life, and we know that you want to do your best to raise your child in a way that pleases God and instills a life-long faith into this precious gift that you’ve been given. Child Dedication is an opportunity for you to stand with other families in the church and commit to doing just that. It is also an opportunity for the church to affirm that we stand with you in your parenting journey, with all its ups and downs, for the long haul.
Child Dedication is a special time for families to gather and celebrate and we do not want any family members to miss out on this memorable occasion. Since we were not able to offer Child Dedications in 2020, we are offering Child Dedication over two weekends! The first weekend is August 14-15. The second weekend will be October 9-10. The dedication ceremony will be similar at all services. Registration for August is now open. October registration should open in later this summer.
What’s the difference between dedication and baptism?
Baptism celebrates the outward declaration of an inward decision any individual has made to say to Jesus and His redemptive and restorative work in our lives. Child Dedication celebrates the anticipatory faith of parents for their child to one day say yes to Jesus, and their commitment to shepherd them toward that decision in the coming years.
A Note from Marcy
“Congratulations! What an exciting and sometimes overwhelming season in your life as you begin this journey called parenting. We believe that you have a unique role as the primary influencer in your child’s life, and while that can be a big responsibility, it is also rich with opportunity. We also believe that when a child’s home and their church are on the same page we can have a greater impact than just one of those influences alone which is why the heart of Fairfax Kids is to partner with you to have the greatest impact on your child’s life.
I’d like to personally invite you to come to check out our program and say hello to our staff. We’re happy to answer any questions you have, and we can’t wait to meet you and your child.
Hope to see you soon!”Marcy DavisChildren's Pastor
