Book of Galatians

Day 17

READ Galatians 3:6-9
So also Abraham ‘believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.’

Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

COMMENTARY:
In these verses, Paul refers to Abraham as an example of faith. He reminds the Galatians that Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. Paul emphasizes that those who rely on faith are children of Abraham and are blessed along with him. The true children of Abraham are not those who follow the law but those who have faith in God.

Questions to ponder:

  • Reflect on Abraham’s example of faith. How does his story inspire you in your own faith journey?
  • Consider the significance of faith being credited as righteousness. How does this truth impact your understanding of salvation?
