The Fairfax Church Resource Center is in the initial stages of opening up a low-cost immigration legal aid clinic here at the church! We are thrilled to be establishing this and continue to trust God as He leads us down this path.
Opening a ILS office is no small task. It will take a group of volunteers that are passionate about welcoming immigrants and helping them walk through the complicated legal system and learning to thrive in their new home. There are many roles open from becoming a certified legal advocate through the Department of Justice, volunteering as legal assistants, to simply spending time with new families helping them in a variety of practical ways. No experience is necessary. The national organization we are working with, Immigrant Connection, will walk us through and train us in every step along the way.
