Our first Outreach Ministry Lunch & Learn of 2024 is just around the corner! This is an opportunity for current and interested volunteers in the Resource Center and our impact teams to come together, eat, learn and grow in our faith together to serve our community and the world.
Our speaker for this next Lunch & Learn will be Shannon McNeil, a pediatric social worker and grief therapist for Capital Caring Kids, one of the largest pediatric hospice and palliative care agencies in the United States. Shannon works with families in DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. She is part of an interdisciplinary team working in the patient’s home to support patients and their families. Shannon has contributed to articles published in the Journal of Religion & Spirituality in Social Work and has spoken at the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics annual conference.
Shannon is one of the social workers our Resource Center works with to ensure that families in crisis receive needed food, hygiene, and clothing during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
We would love for you to join us, hear from Shannon, share a meal with other volunteers, and even participate in a project to bless Capital Caring Kids during the lunch! Children are welcome. Please just make sure to register each member of your family who will be attending so we have an accurate count. RSVP HERE
