Local Outreach | Flexible

Fairfax FISH is a conglomerate of 14 churches serving the people of our community, in which Fairfax Church is a part of. They are always in need of phone captains and drivers to take orders and get the necessary resources to people in need who cannot leave their homes. The commitment is once a month to be on call for a specified amount of time during daytime hours to receive orders.

About Local Outreach

Our outreach team organizes Love Your Neighbor projects and mobilizes volunteers to serve the local community. Through the Resource Center and strategic partnerships, we meet specific, immediate needs of some of the most vulnerable families across the region.

Local Outreach | Thursday Morning

Our Food Distribution Team serves alongside a local group of residents distributing food to those in need in their Annandale neighborhood three Thursdays out of the month. Volunteers help load the truck, set up tables & tents, offload and distribute food donations.  Volunteers can commit to once a month or weekly on Thursday between 9:00am – 12:00pm. We invite you to join us on a Thursday and see what the Food Distribution is all about!

Local Outreach | Either 9:15 or 11:00 Sunday Service, Wednesday Morning

To get a feel for the overall ministry of Fairfax Outreach, spend some time with our Resource Center volunteers on Wednesday or Sunday.  The Resource Center is the hub of activity and where you will meet other people serving in various ways throughout the church, the community and globally. Each week we do a variety of tasks to keep our Resource Center running from shopping, stocking shelves, making essential bags, bundling diapers, and assembling donation requests from area social service providers.
